Here it is, the latest issue of the Paradise Post.  We have had a busy year running tours to our developments in Ojochal, Tres Rios and Chontales.  We had 61 people visit us in the month of August alone.  Our guest house has been full with folks taking our 4 day 3 night discovery tour.  At only $250 per person, the value can't be beat.  See more about our tours at http://www.PacificLots.com/visit

Hello,

We need to fence our property in Ojochal and have a topographer identified to specify the boundaries of the lot.  What we need now is someone else to work with him to build the fence itself.  Anyone know a handyman who could do this?  We'd like a living fence and the lot is about 1.5 acres.

Thanks!  Alison

I hear you man,
I believe those numbers are the reality and the primary interest of the forum of having a high traffic.
I understand the entity of the forum is clear, is made mainly for foreign residents of the surrounding areas of Ojochal and I love the initiative but feel a little off by seeing that excludes those that don’t have the luck of being bilingual.
My comments go further than percentages and statistics my interests are directed to common sense and respect in the best terms. I see that all the local magazines are bilingual as most of the websites too.
I like being part of this forum and will enjoy seeing the accessibility of my similar, even if the percentages are minimum they should not be excluded, and who knows maybe there are a lot of people that don’t access it because they find a “closed door”.   Grin

I completely disagree,
It is true that things have changed in Ojochal in the last 15 years and thank gog for that. You used to have to cross rivers with your car to get there. Mind you, change does not always come withought mishaps, but all in all, Ojochal is still quite charming and a great place to spend your vacation or live there.

Tico,

Less than 1% of the web hits are from people in Spanish speaking countries so I never went through with it. Dutch and German are 3rd and 4th right behind French. Those three make about 45% of the hits and English around 52%,

This is an email from Heiner Astúa and his comments about the five man capture and the overall problem with the crime on the Costa Ballena area.

Hi everyone,

I was a witness when the police did the capture of those guys, I was very close to the scene and now reading your e-mail I feel very close to confirm my theory about the real problem behind those security problems.

I can`t undertand why people with properties around this area are contracting workers from San José or San Isidro if we have a lot of people around the area without jobs. This is the cause of local people without jobs and money move to work together with bad people to do roberies.

We need to be smart and work with the same people that we know in the area. I understud that everyone is trying to pay less for the labour but with a big cost for our neightbours. Then if you still doing this mistake you will be sure the problem will be worst everyday.

Please, we have the posibility to do a paradise or a hell with our town.

Regards

Heiner Astúa

I lived in Ojochal for 10 years and live in the surrounding areas the last 5 years, and I can not be so glad I leave 5 years ago, the place has change 400% of what it use to be 15 years ago. It lost all its charm. Cry
