Where does the name Ojochal come from? Is it an old Indian name? No one really seems to know.

Bob,

I believe the name to be derived from the ojoche tree. Here is some info on that http://www.fincaleola.com/ojoche.html

Thank JimG. That is a very informative site. Are there any places to purchase trees, such as a garden center, in the area?

Bob,

There is a place on the costanera called Viveros La Bonita. They have a pretty good selection of all types of plants.

There will be a gathering for the friends of Chad Hymel, owner of Hotel Villas del Bosque who passed away in a car accident Thursday, August 2.  It will be held at Restaurante Marina Ballena (in the Don Isreal complex) at 5pm on Wednesday.  A more traditional service will be held next week.
