I am to move to the area in the next couple of months and am thinking of a educational choice for my children.
I am looking for other parents in the area who may be in the same boat as I. I met a person who started a "private school" with other parents.
I would like to find others who would want to create a program for our future.

Hi Julie,

Were you able to find a good school for your children?  I am interested in spending an extended time in Ojochal soon to fence our lot and build a house on it.  Would need to find schools for 6th and 10th graders.

Thanks, Alison

Allison,

We opted for an on-line program and a collaborative with other families. We go to Uvita and Tres Rios with other kids once a week to each and they visit us. We do our math and english at home and science, spanish and history with the other families.

All the kids have adjusted well. At first, it was difficult but they understand now and just do it.

Hi Julie, my wife and I are considering a move to Ojochal with our two daughters (6 and 9) this Fall and would like to know what online program you decided to use. We'd also be interested in the "shared schooling."
Thanks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

We use Internet Home School. http://www.internethomeschool.com/
So far so good. We chose it for the ease and it is accredited.

The shared schooling is great. We go by a U.S. school year, so the kids have off during July and August.
If you'd like the idea of the shared school it would be easier to speak than try to write about it.
Let me know.

Hi Julie, thanks for the info. I'm coming back down in mid-March so we can touch base then.
